There are moments when you feel you are part of something bigger – without losing yourself. „Connecting at the moment“ is such a moment – captured in an image that doesn't explain, but makes you experience. Created on the Japanese pilgrimage trail, amidst the deep tranquility of a bamboo forest, this work invites you to see the individual and feel the whole at the same time.
The vertical lines – sometimes brilliantly bright, sometimes subdued in soft grey and brown tones – create a rhythm reminiscent of the interplay between the individual and the whole. Each line stands on its own, yet is part of a larger composition that only unfolds its full power in harmony. The bright, almost luminous lines bring light and clarity to the space, while the darker tones provide depth and substance.
Do you think a real connection can be made without you consciously experiencing the moment?
„Connecting at the moment“ reminds you that we are all part of a larger rhythm – connected to nature, to other people, to our own inner attitude. It is art for people seeking direction without having to commit – who value community without sacrificing their independence.
„Connecting at the moment“ is part of the series „Between Light and Silence“ – a photographic meditation, created on the Japanese pilgrimage route. The series transforms movement, sound, and light into visual compositions that touch you beyond language and time. It invites you to understand yourself as part of a larger rhythm – connected to nature, to the moment, to your own inner attitude.
While the series as a whole explores the contrast between order and transience, it embodies „Connecting at the moment“ The communal essence of this theme: individuality and belonging at the same time. The bamboo stalks stand close together – each grown on its own, yet together they form the forest. This work captures precisely this tension: the independence that sustains, and the connection that strengthens.
The series „Between Light and Silence“ is an invitation not only to see but to feel the silent presence of nature. „Connecting at the moment“ The image serves as a central anchor point within this journey – a place where you can recognise yourself as part of a whole, without giving yourself up.
Do you think true community can arise without each individual being seen?
My intention in creating „Connecting at the moment“ It was about creating a visual space where you feel both seen and connected. On the pilgrimage, amidst the bamboo forests, I felt how each stalk was simultaneously individual and part of a larger organism. This work is my attempt to make that experience visible – not as a concept, but as an immediate resonance.
I want you to pause. To recognise how the individual and the whole are interwoven. To feel how your gaze opens and the space around you takes on a different quality – a quality of presence, balance, and connection.
Perhaps you're looking for exactly this: a place of clarity that isn't isolating. An atmosphere of community that isn't overwhelming. A visual anchor that centres you without confining you. People who bring art into their lives are often looking for more than just aesthetics – they're looking for meaning. They're looking for spaces that help them understand themselves in context. They're looking for moments that don't pass, but endure.
„Connecting at the moment“ It is such a work. It is not a decoration – it is an experience of connection. It opens spaces for reflection, for encounter, for conscious being in the moment. It connects you with an attitude that goes deeper than mere seeing: with mindfulness, with balance, with the experience of belonging without losing yourself.
Do you think a room can truly be inspiring if it's merely pleasing but lacks depth?
A work of art like „Connecting at the moment“ changes not only the look of a room – it changes its Posture. It creates atmosphere, focuses attention and opens perception. Depending on where you place it, it unfolds different effects – always however with the same inner quality: connection, clarity and presence.
It says: Genuine human connection is valued here.
Connections can be made here.
