The work was created in the clear brightness of an autumn day, when the leaves wear their colour most strongly and yet are already beginning to detach themselves from the vine. I approached a single vine shoot so closely that the landscape behind it disappeared. Only light, colour, and form remained.
The deliberate movement during the filming transformed this encounter into a poetic flicker. The leaves detached themselves from their solid form and began to float. No longer a depiction, but a sensation.
What intimacy arises when one approaches a detail so closely that it begins to dissolve?
