Space between the lines

Sometimes words aren't needed to understand. Sometimes a look is enough to feel that something is opening up. „Light streaks“ is such a picture – quiet, clear, translucent. Created on the Japanese pilgrimage route, between the bamboo stalks that do not hold the light, but let it through.

The lines run vertically, some bright like early daylight, others subdued in grey and blue. They don't form an end, but rather passageways. They don't separate, but rather create space. The yellow appears warm, but not loud. The grey carries depth without becoming heavy. And in between: air. Presence. Openness.

Can you feel clarity without turning to it?

This work is aimed at people who know that silence does not mean emptiness – and that light does not always have to dazzle to be effective.

Restraint as strength

„Light streaks“ is part of the series „Between Light and Silence“, which originated on the Japanese pilgrimage route. Each work in this series explores the interplay of structure and dissolution, of clarity and permeability. However, while other works in the series employ contrasts or emphasise movement, „Light streaks“ for the Reserved.

It is work that does not push forward. It leaves space – for the eye, for thought, for what arises within the observer. The bamboo stalks in the forest stand close together, and yet there are spaces between them. Light falls through. Not glaring, not dramatic. But noticeable.

„Light streaks“ is within the series the place where you can breathe a sigh of relief. A work that does not demand, but offers. A visual breathing space.

Do you think spaces can be effective if they are only filled, but never permeable?

What remains when silence speaks

When I took this picture, I was standing between the trunks and I felt the light making its way through. Not intrusive. Not dramatic. Simply there. And that's precisely what I wanted to capture: this quality of light that doesn't dazzle, but supports. That doesn't show, but opens.

I want you to stand before this work and realise: There is space here. Nothing needs to be said here. You are simply allowed to be here.

Perhaps you're looking for just this: a space that doesn't crowd you. A picture that doesn't tell you what to feel, but invites you to feel for yourself. Art that doesn't need to be loud to have an effect.

People who bring such works into their lives aren't looking for decoration. They are looking for Posture. You're looking for images that don't just beautify rooms, but transform them – atmospherically, emotionally, sustainably.

„Light streaks“ It does exactly that. It creates permeability. It opens perception. It lets you breathe.

How this work transforms your spaces

„Light streaks“ It's not a picture to hang to fill a gap. It's a picture that opens up spaces – visually, emotionally, atmospherically. Depending on where you place it, it has a different effect. But it always carries the same inner quality: expansiveness, calm, permeability.

  • In living spaces:
Bedrooms become places of internal spaciousness. Living areas remain open without being cluttered. Work corners gain clarity without becoming cold. The delicate colours bring light without dominating. The vertical structure provides support without being restrictive. You can breathe a sigh of relief – and that’s exactly what you sometimes need. A space that doesn’t crowd you, but carries you.
  • In professional contexts:
Meeting rooms gain visual space. Ideas flow more easily when the room doesn't feel cramped. Offices gain focus without creating a sense of confinement. Reception areas signal openness without seeming arbitrary. Anyone who sees this work senses: it's not just about function. It's about attitude. About space for the essential.
  • In spaces for encounter:
People arriving – in hotels, practices, consulting rooms – immediately sense: I'm in the right place. The calmness of the image is infectious. No one feels watched, but everyone feels seen. What remains is not a loud impression, but a quiet certainty: This place gives me space.

The work remains in the memory – not because it is loud, but because it leaves space.
