Through the recommendation of Michael Omori from Fotografr, FotoTV became aware of my work - and so I got the opportunity to present my approach to Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and multiple exposure in photography in an exclusive live event for the platform's members. Nearly 50 FotoTV members attended the Zoom meeting - a curious, open-minded audience that dived into the world of abstract and experimental photography with great interest and openness. The evening was opened by Kerstin Schütz from FotoTV, whose professional moderation created the perfect setting for our joint discovery of creative photography beyond classic focus. ICM & multiple exposure: creative tools for new perspectives My aim was to provide a "toolbox": basic techniques, creative impulses and first steps for experimenting with ICM photography and artistic multiple exposure. Because abstract photography is not a rigid set of rules, but a free playing field. It's about feeling with the camera, not just seeing. It's about expression instead of depiction - about emotion instead of documentation. The topics of the evening at a glance Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) as an artistic means of creation- The conscious movement of the camera as a creative tool- Photography as an expression of inner perception- Fundamentals of movement in ICM photography- Horizontal and vertical panning- Circular movements, zooming, wiping- Multiple exposures in photography- Combining several shots into a multi-layered composition- Playing with light, Technique & editing- Camera settings for ICM and multiple exposures- First steps in post-processing Photographic perception and emotion- How abstract photography changes our view of reality- Why blurring is not a mistake, but an artistic stylistic device From knowledge to expression: the power of experimental photography I didn't just want to teach technique - my aim was to inspire enthusiasm. For the creative potential that lies in Intentional Camera Movement and multiple exposure. The positive response from the participants was overwhelming. I received many personal messages and there was great feedback in the chat. I was particularly pleased that some participants were immediately inspired to experiment with the camera themselves, and this wonderful feedback is very valuable to me. It shows me that abstract photography inspires and connects. Why abstract photography is more than just "out of focus" I gave this course to show that abstract photography can be a way to express feelings and impressions that are difficult to capture with classical photography. Even if ICM or multiple exposures are not the preferred medium for everyone, they expand photographic perception and offer valuable impulses - even for people who usually work in a more representational way. I have been using these techniques in my own artistic work for many years - consciously and with artistic intention. My pictures are not created by chance, but are an expression of emotion, movement and inner landscapes. My abstract photography is an invitation to perception - beyond the obvious, not as an image of the world, but as a resonance to that which cannot be put into words. Fancy more? Let's stay in touch! If you try out ICM or multiple exposure yourself, feel free to tag me or write to me - I look forward to seeing your results and engaging in creative dialogue. 📩 Want to stay up to date?
