History of origin:
This picture was taken in mild October near the popular Zornheim wine pavilion. It was a day when nature was already clearly in retreat - with every gust of wind, more leaves were falling from the vines, as if the landscape itself was quietly saying goodbye. This delicate, melancholy spectacle immediately inspired me to take my camera and capture this fleeting moment.

Description:
In ‘Fading VInes’, the autumnal landscape merges almost completely with the landscape. A deliberate movement of the camera (Intentional Camera Movement - ICM) has created an abstraction that leaves only a delicate impression of yellow glowing foliage. The gentle lines in the picture lend the landscape an almost dreamlike indeterminacy, as if Rheinhessen were slowly and unnoticedly entering hibernation.

Special features:
The special feature of this work lies in its extraordinarily subtle depiction: only a hint of autumn atmosphere is deliberately made visible - the last leaves in the warm yellow tone appear like fleeting touches that could disappear for good at any moment. This deliberate use of fragility creates a unique emotional quality in the viewer.

More than almost any other work in the exhibition, ‘Fading VInes’ shows the fine line between reality and vision - between presence and absence. It epitomises the basic theme of the exhibition ‘Between Reality & Vision’ by showing how perceptions can quietly and unexpectedly dissolve and change.

In the gentle landscape around the wine villages in Rheinhessen, we encounter autumn in a very special way - calm and unagitated, but full of beauty and sensitivity. ‘Fading VInes’ reflects precisely this connection: a region with gentle topography and authentic naturalness, which welcomes and bids farewell to the changing seasons not loudly and dramatically, but in a quiet, poetic way.
