My path to photographic art: doubt as the key to development

Table of contents

The journey to oneself is rarely straightforward - and often full of doubt. But it is precisely these doubts that are the key to development. It was no different for me: today I know that my photography is not just “okay”, but a part of me that can touch people - even if not everyone likes it.

Now, in December, when the year is almost over, I look back on an eventful and moving year. It was a year of clarity, letting go and coming to an understanding - not only of my photographic art, but also of myself.

An eventful year: clarity, letting go and arriving

My journey started with classic photography: business portraits and children's fashion. I loved this work because it brought me into contact with great people and taught me how to capture moments and personalities. But despite my success, something was missing.

It felt like I had a perfect knowledge of the language of photography, but the words that really came from deep within me were missing. What was missing was something that deeply fulfills me - something that is not only visible, but tangible.

Everything changed in 2015. I heard a lecture on ICM photography at a photo fair. Moving photographs that are not perfectly “right”, but convey emotions and stories - this approach immediately fascinated me. At that moment I knew: that's me. That is my language.

From business photography to art: the starting point of my journey

Abstract photography has something liberating for me. It allows me to let go and follow my intuition. My “moving” photographs are blurred, full of dynamics and emotions - that's what makes them so special.

They are authentic. They show not only what I see, but above all what I feel. They go beyond the boundaries of the obvious and invite you to discover your own story in them.

Perhaps my pictures can also inspire you to find out more about yourself. Abstract art is like a mirror: it doesn't show what it “is”, but what you see in it. My photographs invite you to pause, reflect and perhaps discover a side of yourself that you have not yet noticed.

ICM photography: How moving imagery became my language

Do you recognize the feeling of showing something from the bottom of your heart - and not knowing how it will be received? That's exactly how I felt in 2019 when I showed my abstract photographs to the public for the first time.

The doubts were great: What if nobody understands what I want to express? What if my work is dismissed as “not real photography”? But I knew that I had to take this step in order to grow - and to be honest with myself.

The reactions were surprising. Many people felt touched by my pictures. They said they recognized themselves in the lines, colors and movements. That touched me deeply and showed me that art can create a connection that goes beyond words.

Why abstract photography makes feelings become visible

The pandemic was a turning point. Like for many of us, it showed me how quickly everything can change. Suddenly there was this clarity: I don't want to waste any more time doing something that doesn't really fulfill me.

Since then, I have only followed my heart and my intuition. My abstract photographs are not just pictures - they are a part of me. They show how I see the world and they allow me to be honest in a way that doesn't need words.

But this honesty of my art can also be an invitation for you - an invitation to pause and discover yourself. If you bring one of my pictures into your room, it will be more than just decoration. It will tell a story. Perhaps a different one than I see but that is what makes art come alive. Let yourself be inspired - and find your own perspective in my photographs.

Courage for your own art: overcoming doubts and embracing growth

2024 was my year of photographic art. I have sought support to make my work more visible - and I am ready to touch more people with my "moving" photographs.

My vision? Art that not only fills rooms, but moves hearts. Let's embark on this journey together.

Emotional photographic art: dialogue with the invisible

For me, photographic art is not about capturing a fleeting moment. It is the capture of a feeling, a movement, an energy.

My art is not about sharpness or technical perfection - it's about making the essence of a moment visible. My abstract photographs can also help you to connect with your surroundings in an emotional way.

They are not static - they speak. They invite you to change your perspective and fill your space with emotions.

2024 - A year for photographic art that touches hearts

With this journey to my art photography, I have learnt to turn doubt into strength and to trust my own vision. 2025 will be a year in which I continue to take my photographic art into the world - full of hope, inspiration and new ideas.

I look forward to reaching people with my pictures and perhaps showing you a new perspective too.
