History of origin:
This work was created in the soft light of a May day, in the immediate vicinity of the Zornheim chapel. There was something transcendent about the moment when the still young, tender vine shoots let the sunlight shine through - almost as if the leaves themselves were becoming carriers of light.

Description:
The photograph ‘Shining’ represents the fine balance between reality and abstraction - a play that I created through the deliberate movement of the camera (Intentional Camera Movement - ICM). The image not only captures the physical form of the fresh vines, but also conveys their pulsating vitality and energy to the viewer. The golden-yellow leaves seem almost to float and develop an extraordinary luminosity that goes beyond the purely visible.

What makes ‘Shining’ unique is precisely this transitional moment of light: the interplay between delicate growth and radiant brightness creates an atmosphere that conveys far more than just a depiction of a landscape. The blurred movement and the intensity of the luminous green and gold tones reinforce the transcendental effect - a meditative dynamic is created that appeals to the viewer emotionally and invites them to pause for a moment.

It shows how Rhine-Hessian places such as Zornheim can become sources of inspiration for abstract, emotional works of art that go beyond mere depictions of the landscape and allow the regional character to be explored more deeply.
